All About Me

If you have come across my website, Welcome, I am so glad you are here!

My name is Lisa, and I would like to tell you a little bit about how I ended up offering this amazing healing modality called the Spinal Flow Technique. I was born and raised right here in Nova Scotia, and am a very proud Maritimer! I am happily married to my husband Chad, who proudly served our Country, and is now retired.  We also have 3 beautiful daughters who make us so proud!

I believe we all experience hardships and difficulties in life that we must overcome. For me, this started during my childhood, but that's a story for another time. That trauma caused a lot of issues for me, that I did not really understand until my early 20's. I also carried this secret alone until then, but I was committed to myself and overcoming everything I was dealing with. I was no longer ashamed of my secret; I was angry, and also over letting that control my life. I started attending therapy and doing the work needed. I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) shortly after that, and I just kept pushing to overcome the mess of thoughts in my head.  I picked up poetry in elementary school, along with journaling, and both of these things helped me immensely during my childhood and adolescence, even though I did not realize it at the time.

Being a Navy wife was a bittersweet experience for me.  The Military provided us with a stable income and security, but there were a lot of sacrifices along the way.  There were lifelong effects that we all dealt with as a family.  It is very hard for young children to deal with a parent who is there one minute and gone for the next 6 months. It was a trying time for me when the girls were little, but I got through it with the help of my family and some close friends, as well as the support of my husband.  I am so proud of my husband for what he has sacrificed for our Country, and proud of the rest of us as well.  It was not an easy feat, and we all have a few scars, but we got through it together as a family!

The Military also brought me to a group for military spouses called OSISS, Operational Stress Injury Social Support around 2014.  This was a group offering support for spouses of members who were suffering with Operational Stress Injuries. This was an invaluable resource for me, and the people I met there made an immeasurable impact on my life. I have so much respect for our serving members, our Veterans, and their families.

Throughout my life, I was also dealing with a lot unexplained pain.  I was in a car accident in 2015 and it took another 7 years after that to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, which I believe I had prior to the car accident.  On August 1st of 2023, I started feeling unwell and was dealing with a lot of pain in my hands, joints and elbows.  It was a fast and furious onset of what I thought was a Fibro flare.  My doctor suspected the same thing.  I was off work within 10 days of my symptoms starting and by mid October, I was feeling no better, just continuously worse.  After a lot of research, I asked my doctor to test me for a few other things... Lupus, Lyme disease, MS and Rheumatoid Arthritis.  Those were the things that fit my symptoms the most.  My doctor called me with my results and stated that my CRP level was 477, and it is supposed to be zero.  He could not provide me with an official diagnosis and advised I would need to see a Rheumatologist.  Finally, in January of 2024, I received a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis.  It is not lost on me how lucky I am to have gotten in to see the Specialist so soon!  So, there I was dealing with 2 autoimmune diseases, and I knew I had to do something to improve my health.  Soon after I started on a gradual return to work schedule. I quickly realized that my full time desk job was not helping my symptoms.  I needed more movement in my day.

Throughout the years I was trying to find a way to feel better.  I knew my Central Nervous System was not functioning properly, and I was trying everything I could to improve things for myself.  Alternating between hot and cold showers, seeing a Naturopath, but there was no relief. Then one day in February of this year, I stumbled across a post for the Spinal Flow Technique, and I was definitely intrigued!  It was something I had never heard of before, and there was a spot I could search for a Practitioner near me. The closest location I could find was in Prince Edward Island.  What!? No Practitioners in Nova Scotia! I quickly realized that this was something I wanted to pursue for myself.  I could become a Practitioner, helping myself in the process, and then I could do the same for others!  I reached out to the 2 ladies in PEI and started asking questions. It wasn't long after that I was signed up, studying and practising as much as I could, then heading to Mexico in May to complete the in-person part of the program so I could receive my certification.  It was a lot of hard work, but what I have learned, and the healing I have experienced and seen firsthand are truly incredible!  This modality works, and I am beyond thrilled to be able to offer it to others who are dealing with pain, dis-ease and illness!  I feel like my life has prepared me for this healing modality to come into my life, and to help others heal.  Whether it is physical, chemical or emotional trauma, I understand!  I know what it is like to deal with trauma, mental illness, chronic pain and fatigue, and my goal is to bring hope and healing to others! To inspire you to really connect to yourself, and listening to your body. It knows what is needed to heal!  I cannot wait to see who is called to this experience, and to show you just how amazing the Spinal Flow Technique is! I

am so proud to be one of the first Practitioners bringing the Spinal Flow Technique to Nova Scotia!!
